Mark Edison began his legal career working under a 7-11 license as a prosecutor for the City of Chicago. Later, Mark gravitated to the area of tax consulting and tax planning. Quickly recognizing the significance of real estate investment and the many benefits real estate investment provided his clients. Mark’s practice expanded and focus shifted to real estate transactional work and litigation, including but not limited to construction litigation and defense, mortgage foreclosure litigation and defense, landlord tenant litigation and defense, code and building violation defense in Chicago as well as other municipalities, bank owned (REO) representation on both the Sale and Purchase sides, Short Sale representation, residential and commercial real estate transactions, as well as a multitude of other areas many of which are in some way “intertwined” with real estate related law.

Robert T. Metz concentrates his practice in construction, insurance coverage, general liability litigation, foreclosure defense, as well as civil trial practice in both state and federal court. As a civil engineer, Mr. Metz has a significant background in all aspects of construction. Mr. Metz previously worked as in-house counsel for Chicago’s largest gener al contractor handling all aspects of its legal needs. Mr. Metz has significant experience in construction accident litigation, representing general contractors, architects, engineers, subcontractors and owners. He is involved in all aspects of case handling from discovery through trial. Additionally, Mr. Metz is a registered patent attorney and has experience handling all aspects of intellectual property, including trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets.
Mr. Metz graduated from DePaul University College of Law and was awarded his J.D. in 2004. Prior to that he attended the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urban where he graduated with a degree in Civil and Structural Engineering. He is a member of the Civil Engineering honor society, Chi Epsilon, the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
